Abstract
PURPOSE:
To determine the impact of uninterrupted use of warfarin on hand and wrist surgery.
CONCLUSIONS:
Uninterrupted use of warfarin in patients undergoing surgery of the hand and wrist was associated with an infrequent risk of bleeding complication requiring reoperation. Increased rates of hematoma and ecchymosis in patients taking warfarin normalized by 4 weeks postoperatively.
Resumen
PROPÓSITO:
Para determinar el impacto del uso ininterrumpido de la warfarina en cirugía de la mano y la muñeca.
CONCLUSIONES:
Uso ininterrumpido de la warfarina en pacientes sometidos a cirugía de la mano y la muñeca se asoció con un riesgo de complicación poco frecuente de sangrado que requiere reintervención. El aumento de las tasas de hematomas y equimosis en pacientes que toman warfarina normalizado por 4 semanas después de la operación.
